Situated on the river Guadalquivir, Sevilla is the most populous city in southern Spain.

In the old city, Flowering courtyards hide behind ornate gates and decorated facades and many of them painted with the characteristic of Sevilla color: albero yellow, typical of the land of this region color.

Its streets are characterized by the festive atmosphere and the crowd of people in and out of the tapas bars in the neighborhood of Santa Cruz or Triana, downtown, generally spend their life on the street. That if they know how to enjoy tasting some tapas from bar to bar with stunning tapas accompanied by a good beer cruzcampo very fresh or good glass of wine reasonable prices.

 

Stroll through the gardens of the Alcazar, cross the river to visit the lively neighborhood of Triana or climb the Giralda (name given to the tower of the Cathedral of Seville) from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city, are things that you can not miss in this city.

 

Flamenco and bullfighting in La Maestranza, also part of the customs of the Sevillian, in addition to his famous April Fair is one of the most popular festivals in the province accompanied by the Easter where Sevillian show their feelings singing their most beautiful arrows devotados saints.

 

History

In ancient times the Romans conquered the region and founded the colony of Italica, which can still be visited ruins in the nearby town of Santiponce.

After more than five hundred years of Muslim rule (which can still be seen several memorials), in 1247 King Ferdinand III of Castile, began the reconquest of Andalusia.

In the Archive of the Indies it can be found all kinds of documentation relating to the Spanish colonies.

Situada a orillas del río Guadalquivir, Sevilla es la ciudad más poblada del sur de España.
