Puente de Triana ( triana's bridge)
ISABEL II BRIDGE (BRIDGE OF TRIANA)
Triana`s bridge is an emblematic monument of Seville. the bridge connects the city with one of its most popular neighborhoods, Triana.
The Bridge of Isabel II, that is how truly is called,It was built in the late nineteenth century to replace the old bridge of boats, which consisted of eleven ships chained together, with two pilasters in the openings to prevent flooding of the river.
On February 23, 1852, it was opened and there was a big military parade.
Triana's Bridge had a twin brother, it was shaped in a painting by Vincent Van Gogh, which actually shows the Carousel Bridge on the Seine River in Paris. Bridge that was destroyed in 1931.
Far from running the same fate as the Paris bridge, the Puente de Triana was declared a National Historic Landmark in April 1976. Its last restoration was undertaken by the Onubense Juan Batanero and today is one of the emblems of Seville city.
As part of the same bridge, although subsequent construction of the chapel can see del Carmen. I recommend you crossing this historic bridge
